caught up, I can't help but to go back and read everything again. I had a
terrible time attempting t narrow down my favorites to six. In the end, epic

Oh, good I managed to get this vote in before it's too late. Alright, #1
on my list is "The Last Avatar" by Davner: This is an incredible epic that
has one of the most original takes to the Tenchi cast. Imagine - killing
off the lead character in the fi st chapter... whoa. #2 is "Destiny's Balance"
again by Davner: This fic is absolutely marvalous and deserves to be read
several times over just so you catch everything that is happening in the
fic. Not only is it the best example of how to write a few SI characters
into the story but in my opinion it should be animated as a conclusion to
the TV series. (If I can get a few more artists/animators together I might
just try it ;) #3 on the list is "Heaven and Night" by Cav. This is a very
deep story that d lves into several insights of the cast. I certainly hope
that Cav someday develops it into the epic that it can become. #4 is "Magical
Girl Adorable Achika" by J-Pikachu is a really excellent story that kept
me laughing for several hours while I read it I'm usually not into Magical
girl anything but this one is definitely worth the read. #5 on the list is
"A Stardica Song" co-written by Patrick "Seion" Stewart and Literary Eagle.
This was a great re-telling of the classic tale "A Christmas Carol". I was
wonderfully egaging and was original enough in it's execution that it kept
me reading the entire story in one sitting. And Finally, #6 is "The Devil
and Miss Mihoshi" by D.B. Sommer. I'm sorry but I couldn't help but vote
for this one, it was just oo damn funny. Forgive me, everyone, but I do feel
the need to rant for a few seconds. How difficult is it to read the FREAKING
RULES TO VOTING?!?! They're posted in about 3 or 4 different places n this
site. Not to mention the fact that they are sitting right next to you AS
YOU VOTE! Pay attention people!!!! Stop these inane votes for characters
and voting for one fic 6 times over. It's just proves to anyone that has
half a brain that you are a complete moron! Not to mention the fact that
it creates a hell of a lot more work for Gensao to have to clean up after.
GET with it people. ALright... I feel much better now. End of rant.

Typically, I'd talk about why I liked these fics. However, I think this season
I need to address a trend in Tenchi fandom that has become downright intolerable.
That trend is Aeka bashing. It's hard being a Ryoko fan these days. I have
to constantly hang around friends who are fans of Aeka who tell me about
the latest bashing that their favorite character has recieved at the hands
of a Ryoko fan, and up until lately I tried to defend us. I ried saying "it's
a small portion of the whole" or "most Ryoko fans don't feel that way." While
that remains true, I am terribly disturbed at the shear hatred that this
fan group can show at a character! I could understand it if you guys had
reasons or if Aeka was a bad character, but the normal reasoning really comes
down to "she's in Ryoko's way." Listen up people: that's Tenchi's problem,
not Aeka's. If Tenchi *loves* Ryoko, then he'll choose her of his OWN FREE
WILL! Aeka has just as much right to love Tenchi as Ryoko does. It's just
unfortunate that certain no talent hack directors who work for AIC *cough*
Negishi *cough* happen to have the same mentality as this fan group does.
I've grown so tired of the bashing towards this character. Most fics that
ash out at Aeka's character have absolutely no backing in the series itself,
nor do they really display the true characterizations of the show. Most of
them are simple childish rants of immature writers who have improperly directed
their hatred at the wro g character. We should take appreciation in the fact
that this series has such a strong cast and learn to respect all the characters
(well the original ones at least). Please, all readers take a look at the
last fic that I have listed in my votes, "Aeka's Mirror." It s one of the
finest written self-reflection fics ever and should be a requirement of all
readers, especially those who feel the need to bash Aeka. Sorry to Gen for
using up this space Oh, btw Mr. Frauchiger, I just dare you to come on here
and tell me that any of these fics don't deserve the votes instead of mindlessly
accusing me and my friends of voting based on the fact that I know them and
not the quality of their fic. I happen to now dozens of Tenchi authors and
it just so happens some of them can write well.

Trouble, with a twist of lime: Very funny. It was well written with people
watching a movie with the guy in the movie saying the F word and drink Tequila
when he says it. Then the bedroom part was well written also, the moments
happening before they did you know what. Then the aftermath of the incident
was great also. The way Tenchi blames himself is realistic. The Devil and
Miss Mishohi: Another funny story. A story in where the demon tries to torture
Mishohi but instead it's the other way. Mishohi does stuff in hell that only
the head demon can do. The ending is funny also. The others ones are great
too, but they're not comedys like my first two choices. The last three are
more army like stories. The Dawn Of Freedom is a great story of Ryoko tring
to get a revolution from her homeland, the Regreatful Messiah is a story
tha people die to protect the king, who is Tenchi. Tenchi gets sick of it
and I forgot the rest. And Conspiracies By Candlelight is a good story between
Kiyone and her boyfriend and what they have been through in the past.

I'm sorry, but I just had to vote for TM:L&L and TM:M,B,H&S first.
After reading about the hell that the author went through I found myself
re-evaluating why I like Tenchi Muyo and reading fan fiction. NO ONE should
be made to feel that their story is inf rior, unimportant, or no damn good.
The fact that he wrote about Tenchi marrying all the girls doesn't make it
a bad story just because some don't agree with that kind of ending. I'm sure
there are some stories and endings that the author in question does not agree
with. I'm so sorry that he had to endure criticism that literally pushed
him out of writing more stories. For a beginner, someone who never wrote
a fan fic before, his first two tries were damn good. I've seen seasoned
authors on this and other ites that are barely writing better fan fics than
these two stories. Who knows what kind of stories he would be writing in
a year or two. In my opinion if he started out good, he would have been a
great fan fic writer in the future after honing his litera y skills and learning
from *constructive* input and critiqueing. Alas, we will never know. Here's
to you Mr. Robinson where ever you are. Please forgive the narrow minded
views of those with no feelings. As a side note I would simply like to state
that I am in no way attacking any author's on this or any other site. Nor
am I attacking any individuals that truly do not like these stories. My little
speech was directed towards the ones that were the main ca se of striking
down a potentially prominent fan fic writer in the beginning stages of his
creative skills. If I've inadvertantly offended any author or individual
who does not care for those kind of endings to a Tenchi Muyo fan fic I apologize.

I decided not to beat around the bush this season with the other four votes
and only vote for my two favorites in no particular order. MGAA is hilarious,
and shame on you if you haven't read it. As a matter of fact, you should
quit reading this comment sh et and go read it right now. The sarcasm in
this fic makes Dennis Miller look dull in comparison. It jabs at the magical
girl series with hilarious insights into the REAL ups and downs of becoming
a magical girl like Pretty Sammy. As for Heaven and Night, it is in my opinion
the most interesting new fic series on the archive today. The story is very
good and the character interactions are thought provoking, but the STAR TREK
joke screwed it all up:) I just voted for it out of pity. (just kidding)
In the last few weeks I have had the honor of pre-reading many great fics
out there which will make the next voting season a lot harder:) So be happy,
there's a lot of good stuff coming this way. This season, we have seen a
lot of newbies voting, and well .. it hasn't beeen pretty. Some of these
cretinous, DBZ lovin' newbies post idiotic crap and childish perversities,
and that's getting on my nerves. I hope that next season people will READ
THE VOTING RULES. Oh yeah, "reyookoh" rules. Geez, if you want to win the
# 1 spot on this chart next season, just title your fic "tenchi" or "Susammy"
you can't loose with newbies like this... Last, I would like to congratulate
Cav and Davner on their new Tenchi Muyo! fanfiction review site, it's a lot
of fun, even if they bash my man, Negishi. Good job.

As usual, I have voted only for fics that are either new or updated during
the voting period (thus, I excluded from the running many, many fics I love,
including "Aikan Muyo," "A Very Tenchi Christmas," and the complete works
of Literary Eagle.) I put "B shonen Muyo" in the top spot for a couple of
reasons. First, it is a near-perfect example of the "alternative universe"
fic (frequently seen in Ranma fandom, but much rarer in Tenchi fics). Second,
it is one of all-out fall-out-of-the-chair-laughing fun iest pieces I have
ever seen on this site. I have not voted for "Heaven and Night" previously,
but the latest chapter was profoundly gripping, with one of the best cliff-hanger
endings ever. "The Last Avatar," "Heart and Soul," and "To Love and to Hate"
are all fics that I have voted for before, and I look forward to future
installments. Finally, like "Kiyone's Birthday," "Tenchi Makes His Choice...
Enter Kiyone" is a fine example of a fic that was originally written to make
a point (Tenchi & Kiyo do no work as a couple) but ends up being entertaining
in its own right. Anyway, that's my ballot: see you next season!

These are all really cool fics. I personally think that Chris Davies, Brian
Burke, Kevin Smith, Ellis Diggs, Cav, and Dav are very good writers and if
you look at their work, have contributed good ideas and style into TMFFA.
Dav and Cav are great writers nd I hope they never stop contributing to TMFFA.
Brian Burke is a good writer and has put in some good pieces in TMFFA that
flow and have good elements in them. Chris Davies, who has a smooth flow
of writing that I like and describes really well whats goi g on with a funny
element to it. Lastly is Ellis Diggs, who is very inventive, adding humor,
description, and emotion in his work. I think all of these writers should
get together and work on a project or something, that would be something

Okay here we go: Tenchi Muyo: Mind Triangle was the funniest short fic I
have ever read in my life. Good one by Ellis. I was laughing the whole read
and I wasn't even in the mood. Check it out if you want a quick lemon laugh.
Would you believe Tenchi wasn't even a sex-sym ol in the story? It's the
only lemon I would recommend for as young as a 15 years old. Destiny's Balanced
was a great read. I have yet to see a fic that stayed on track with it's
story and kept it smooth. Kudo's man! Confess to you was a very emotional
read, the author used a lot of good ideas writing it. The only part I didn't
like was how the author rushed the moment to soon and didn't take the time
to describe some things like in chapter one. Tenchi Muyo: So Anxious was
done well by Ellis again. It was the only fic I read where Tenchi wasn't
the lemon-master. Also they gave a realistic plot to Tenchi's 'controlled'
behavior and even explained it well, Tenchi acting only slightly off his
charac er- the best I have seen in a lemon yet. Anyway, that's all. I'll
see you next season!

It's that time again. Time to vote. First up on the list is "Magical Girl
Adorable Achika," by J-Pikachu. This is probably the funniest fic I've ever
read, and it deals more with a very popular character who doesn't get much
screen time, Achika. "Tenc i Muyo: Legend," by Daniel "Ssedrey" Powell, is
probably the only second generation Tenchi fic I like. The characters are
engaging and interesting, and the story is excellent. "Heaven and Night,"
by Cav. This story is one of the best on the archive. ell written, witty,
funny, and very emotional. Bravo, Cav. Dave Menard's "Tenchi Mucho," is up
next. I voted for this fic last season based on what I saw of chapter one.
Now that chapter two and three are out, I feel inclined to vote for it again.
It s that good. "Bishonen Muyo" by Keener is *gasp* an original idea! And
hilarious too. "Things Fall Apart," by Cori Jordan. This is one of the newest
fics on the archive and shows a great deal of promise. I hope to see more
of it soon. Oh, before I g ... Miss Frauchiger, some of the people I voted
for are friends of mine. Is it okay if I vote for them? I would rather not
be named in any insulting, baseless accusations this season, thank you very

Time to finally put in my votes. "Heaven & Night" still one of my favorites.
Wish Cav would've finished it. Dav's "Tenchi Makes His Choice...Enter Kiyone"
is one of the best I've read all around and attacks a kind of controversial
topic. Dav's incred ble at carrying a story and keeping the reader glued
to the screen which he also demonstrates in "Destiny's Balance" and "The
Last Avatar". J-Pikachu has a great writing technique that can be both comedic
and serious that he uses in "Magical Girl Adorabl Achika" and he uses a character
that deserves a little bit more time in the spotlight. And I love the ironies
and the hilarity in "Tenchi Mucho!" Good job all you guys. :)

I find the emotions in both "Confess to You" and "A Startica Song" quite
moving and definitely worth the time to read. "Season 2" has a great amount
of comedy as do parts of "A Startica Song" which does harken back to the
original OVA and TV series of TM , but with a different twist due to the
authors. "Changing Agreements" is a nice story. However like my own, I know
that the best has yet to come. I believe it does deserve my vote. "Ryoko's
Love" and "Ryoko's Gems" are both well established stories, oth written well
by good authors. I only wish more segments would be released.

Easily one of my favorite pieces of fan fiction ever. The story progression
is well done, as is the ending. Although, I'll admit a bit of bias--being
a die-hard Ryoko fan. But hey, who doesn't think the golden-eyed pirate is
the best of the bunch?
