Tenchi Muyo: Honor and Glory Disclaimer: I don’t own the characters of Tenchi Muyo or any of its paraphernalia. I do own any characters that I have made up. The sole exception is Delthar, who is D3. I think you get the idea, so don’t sue me. I have no money and it’s a waste of time to do so. Part 5: Wedding Night Weddings are events that you should remember. They seal your fate for the rest of your life with one other, usually. We Juraians are a different matter of course. Then you share it with more than one. They are memorable and you don’t forget them. I haven’t forgotten mine. After all those centuries, I still haven’t forgotten it. I just don’t know if it was truly worth it. What? My wives are standing right behind me? Oh shit. Azusa: Emperor of Jurai Tenchi was nervous. It has been a hellish night for him, as he dreamt of several catastrophes happening today. One was that Ryoko and Ayeka would break under the civility they put out toward each other and kill each other, along with the wedding guests. In another, Ayeka and Ryoko were in S&M outfits, with him tied to the bed. They were busy whipping him, but unable to stop. He shuddered at that one, because he could almost feel the cuts that the whips left in the dream. It is to be expected, though. It is, after all, his wedding day. The only thing he was scared about was screwing up the ceremony. What happened after, was going to be easy. He was still uncomfortable with the fact that he had to make love to both Ayeka and Ryoko for four days straight. He was not sure he could handle that. That added on with Lady Misaki’s explanation of the wedding itself. Which was done with that expert clinical detachment that made Tenchi very uncomfortable and wishing that he could get to that when he learned of it. Life can be a real bitch at times, but he persevered. It was an hour before dawn, meaning that he had two hours before the ceremony. He decided to head for the baths, knowing that it would probably be the last time he could bathe alone. As he got there, he saw Teran getting ready to leave. He was carrying a small package under his arm. When Teran took notice of Tenchi, he smiled. “So, you finally decided to leave your room?” he asked. “Yeah.” Tenchi replied. “I thought that I should bathe now. I only have two hours until my life is shared with two other women.” “Yeah. Two hours before your death certificate will have to be written.” came the joking reply. “Don’t remind me.” He shuddered. “If I survive this, I don’t think anything will be able to kill me.” He began to chuckle to himself. “Probably, but you are still probably scared about the whole thing.” “Yes. I am a little scared, but that’s normal from what I hear.” “If you need help, ask your father. He is likely to understand how you feel.” Tenchi knew that his friend was right. His father and daughter arrived three days ago with Kiyone and Mihoshi. Yosho came as well, but he wisely came under the name of Katsuhito. Tenchi knew that his grandfather had no intention on returning to Jurai, but the wedding of his grandson was too big an event for him to miss. “I’m surprised your grandfather came as well.” Teran said. “I guess that he didn’t want to miss my wedding.” Tenchi replied. “By the way Teran, what’s with the package?” “Oh this?” Teran asked, holding up the package. “It’s a gift for Sasami.” “A gift? What for?” “It is no secret that I love her.” “No shit. Everyone in that wing of the palace knows how you two feel for each other.” “I’m glad you noticed that.” He snapped. “I am planning to propose to her. This,” he said, holding up the package, “is the ring I plan to give her.” “I see. Well, if you want to propose to her before to the wedding, I suggest that you go now.” “Good idea.” Teran finished getting ready and left. Tenchi watched his friend leave and chuckled. He silently thanked Teran for the discussion. It lightened his mood considerably. So, it was with a light heart that Tenchi entered the baths. Only to be suddenly swamped by a roar of congratulations coming from the several men present. His father, grandfather, Azusa, and several others were shouting and slapping him on the back. He was flattered, but all he wanted was a bath. He didn’t want to be congratulated by the entire planet in the process. He almost ran out to find Washu and get her to take him off planet. “All please part so the groom can have his bath.” Azusa shouted. He was trying very hard not to laugh. Everyone parted, laughing all the while. Tenchi walked into one of the private baths, a little upset that he would be the butt of a joke on the day of his wedding. He entered the warm water, relaxing as several days of nervous tension left him. He was looking back on the past few months. From the time Teran came in like a hurricane, to the battle three weeks later. His mind wandered over the events surrounding his proposal to Ayeka and Ryoko. They accepted readily enough, but he was not sure if they were not going to try and kill each other. He left the baths and headed back to his room. He was hoping that breakfast was ready, and that the ceremony did not turn out to be a disaster. Teran was lost in thought on how to propose to Sasami. He loved her, but he was not sure if this was the right course. He had already talked this over with Azusa, who readily agreed. The part that shocked him was that Azusa wanted to arrange the marriage. It took about ten minutes to convince him that a marriage proposal should be accepted by the one being proposed to. “It should be Sasami’s choice, Azusa, whether or not she wants to marry me, or wait a while longer.” He told the man. “It’s not how things are done here, but you have a point.” Azusa replied. Teran wondered if the man was more afraid of his daughter, or him. He put the bet on Sasami. Hell hath no fury like a woman’s scorn. He came to Sasami’s room. Knocking on the door, he waited for a reply. “Who is it?” asked Sasami’s voice. “It’s me, Teran.” He replied. “Come in Teran.” He entered the room, doing a double take when he saw what Sasami was wearing. She was wearing a green gown, with a white sash running down from her left shoulder. The ladies surrounding her were adding the finishing touches to it, which would have devastating effect on any man who saw it. Teran included. “Y…You’re beautiful!” Teran exclaimed. “You think so?” she asked, girlishly. “It’s not what I thought you would wear. That would go great in any wedding on Earth, but it’s a little aggressive don’t you think?” “That’s why I chose this style.” The grin she had was a little naughty. “I like Earth styles. They aren’t as conservative as the styles of this world. Not to mention, it will have a devastating effect on the male population at the wedding.” “I’ll say. It’s doing that to me.” She laughed a rich musical laugh. “So, what brings you here?” “Well, I have to talk to you.” He looked at the ladies finishing up the gown. “Alone if possible.” “Don’t worry, I’ll be done in a minute. Why don’t you go wait in the living room? I’ll be there shortly.” “All right.” With that, he left for the living room. A minute later Sasami followed him. As she entered the room, she saw Teran looking out one of the massive windows there. He was holding a small package that she didn’t notice before. There was an expression of confusion on his face. She noticed that he was talking to himself. “I don’t know if what I’m doing is right. I love her, but am I the right one? Tsunami said I will be her protector, but what does that mean?” He opened the package, taking out a simple, unadorned ring. “This ring. What does it truly signify? That I love her? She already knows that. No, that’s not it. It signifies the commitment I am willing to make for her. I want to marry her, but is she ready for it? Am I ready for it? Sasami, you can come in now.” Sheepishly she entered. How did he know I was watching? She thought. Considering who this is, I’m not surprised. We haven’t been able to hide things from each other very well. So he would notice me. “How much did you hear?” he asked. “You were questioning if what you were doing was right.” “I see.” He looked at her. “Well, would you?” “Would I what?” “Would you marry me?” She was taken aback by his question. Idiot! I should have known that this was what he was talking about. She knew the answer, though. “Yes, I will marry you.” She then began to get gushy on him, as she kissed him, hugged him, and temporarily became an attachment to his neck. He smiled and took it in stride. “Thank you.” He said. He took out the ring and placed it on her ring finger. “This is only an engagement ring, so it is not very ornate. The wedding ring will be a lot better looking.” She was smiling like a cat that ate the canary. A stray thought brought her mood down a peg. “I’m sorry I don’t have a ring to give you, Teran.” “That’s okay, the remaining men at the party will be crushed.” He began to grin, viciously. “Too bad for them. Besides, they're arrogant. Being taken down a peg or two won’t hurt them, much.” She said as she returned his grin. “You are an evil one aren’t you.” He said, “What happened to the Sasami that I first met?” “Nothing, the bond changed me, that’s all. Besides, you changed as well. I seem to remember a Teran who was darker and less mischievous.” “I guess I got that from my bond with you. It made us more like each other. My sense of humor isn’t as perverse, and yours is worse than it used to be.” “Oh really.” She said sarcastically. “You know, I’ve just thought about something.” “What?” “How do you want our wedding to be? Earth style, or Juraian style?” “Juraian,” she grinned. “because they’re more fun.” Teran could only nod. He talked with Funaho about it when Tenchi proposed to Ayeka and Ryoko. What she told him was shocking. Juraians throw away all their conservative ways in a free for all party. He had the feeling that there was a lot of leather and whips involved in the party. Fortunately, this all happened after the ceremony is over with and the drinking starts. For some reason that made him very nervous. “Teran, what’s wrong?” she asked, worry on her face. “What? Oh, nothing. It’s just that I remembered what Lady Funaho told me about weddings on this world.” “Oh.” “So, when should we tell everyone?” “During the party. This way anyone who opposes it can be dealt with.” “Don’t worry, I’ll break the head of anyone who would dare oppose to a marriage between you and I.” “What if my parents oppose it?” “I’ll let you deal with that.” He grinned. “Besides, your father agreed with me. If he wants to change his mind, well, then I will help you.” “Please do.” The grin she gave would have frozen her father’s blood if he had seen it. D3 watched the preparations that were underway for the wedding with barely concealed amusement. He was about to ruin a royal wedding with several hundred soldiers. All this trouble, for only a few individuals. I’ll admit, it’s a little overdone. He thought. But I am not going to take chances. You have proven that you are not someone to be taken lightly Teran. I can’t wait for the time when we confront each other. I haven’t forgotten you either, Tenchi. After I deal with this one problem, I’ll deal with you. He began to laugh a laugh of pure madness. In another part of the palace, Teran felt the hairs on the back of his neck rise. He immediately knew why. Delthar was nearby. He wasn’t sure how he knew it, but he did. His expression went from happy, to grim in short order. He took his wedding garb, and with the use of his knife, made a few modifications to it. When he was done, he had concealed his sword in the garment, but it was easily reached. When he was satisfied, he went to get Sasami. As he went through the halls, he felt something. It wasn’t much, but he knew that what seemed small, could be fatal. It was this awareness that saved him. Before anyone could blink, a knife was headed straight for his back. He quickly turned and drew his sword in one motion. He angled it so that the sword blocked the knife as it came out. The knife bounced off the blade and flew into the nearest wall. The functionary standing near that location nearly had a heart attack as the knife imbedded itself right next to his face. Teran quickly scanned the area, looking for the assailant. He didn’t see anyone, but he did notice that the knife was Kirallian in make. He picked up the knife and walked towards Sasami’s room. He started to get an uncomfortable feeling between his shoulder blades. If it wasn’t for his uneasiness and speed, he would have been dead. Althair walked the halls as a silent shadow. He saw his son block the knife with a sword, and he threw the knife. He became even more proud of his son as he mentally chalked up the sum of the boy’s skill. What he learned, impressed him. His son was far better than he was. His speed would make a starship traveling in hyperspace seem slow. His strength, although untested, was rather average, but his speed made up for that setback. His power is better left unmentioned. Althair saw what happened in the throne room a couple months back. Yes, his son would be able to fight Delthar. And he would be able to get his long overdue rest. He walked on, as a being stepped out of the wall. He was about six feet tall, with green hair, so streaked with white that none could tell that it wasn’t his true hair color. He had an arrogant smirk on his face as he watched Althair’s shadow turn around a corner, and vanish. He adjusted his spectacles, more out of habit than any real need, and looked toward Washu’s room. Well professor, you have indeed been busy. He thought. You have found your son and regained your true powers. Looks like those five thousand years of imprisonment helped. I think I will pay you a visit. He laughed as he disappeared. Any, who heard it, were frozen in terror. The laugh was not evil, but it was unnerving nonetheless. The echoes of it were not quite gone, as Ryoko passed the point that he was standing at. She stopped and looked around, trying to catch the location of the rapidly fading sound. Her body shuddered in fear as she finally recognized the sound. The sound was very much like Kagato’s laughter. Washu was preoccupied with getting ready for the wedding, when she heard a knock on her door. “It’s open.” She said, not even bothering to ask whom it was. She heard the door open and someone enter. She walked out to meet her visitor, when she stopped in her tracks. There was Kagato, sitting on a chair with a sardonic smile on his face. “It has been awhile, hasn’t it professor?” he said as he stood up and bowed. His voice was the type used when talking shop with someone. “Kagato.” She said, surprise very evident in her voice. “Y-you’re dead. Y-you were killed b-by Tenchi.” “Professor, professor, professor.” His tome was mildly reproving, but there was a hint of amusement also. “Tenchi killed my energy form. I had contingencies planned in case that happened. Still, it was uncomfortable” he shuddered as he said those last words. “I’m sorry for your discomfort.” She replied sarcasm clearly evident. He smiled in reply. “I seriously doubt that, but I didn’t come here to talk about the past.” “Then, why did you come here?” she was wary. Kagato trapped her once before, because she put too much trust in him. She was not about to make that mistake a second time. “I’m not going to take you prisoner again professor. I am not insane enough to try that a second time. Not with you more powerful this time. Now, if you’ll sit down and listen, I will tell you. And don’t worry. My ambitions are different, but they involve you, your son, Ryoko, and the rest… Hold it!” She shouted as she stood up. “What does my son have to do with all this?” He smiled, as if he was expecting this reaction. “If you’ll listen professor, then I will be able to explain.” “All right, I’ll listen, but please, make it brief. I have a wedding to attend to.” She was still wary of him, but it lost the edge it had. He smiled again. “That is precisely why I came here.” “Go on.” As Kagato began to talk, Washu listened. She was still reeling from the fact that her former student was here, but she was still able to listen. What she learned, frightened her. Teran reached Sasami’s room and knocked on the door. “Come in Teran.” Came Sasami’s voice. How the hell did she know who it was? He thought as he entered. “You look like you’ve seen a ghost.” She said, worry on her face. “Yeah, well I have just had this thrown at me.” He replied, putting the knife on the table. “I don’t know who threw it, but I have my suspicions.” “Who?” she asked, worry clearly evident. “The thrower was Kirallian. The way it was thrown, points to the techniques my family uses in combat. There are only two people who could have thrown this type of knife though.” “Who?” “Either Delthar, or my father.” “Teran, I seem to recall that your father is dead.” “I’m aware of that, but I don’t think so.” “How?” She doesn’t know, does she? He thought. “I have felt something strange recently. It is strange, yet familiar somehow. It reminds me of what fleeting memories I have of my father. I then remembered three things that make Kirallians unique.” “What are those?” Sasami was interested in what he was telling her. “First, Kirallians are known to be able to stall their own deaths for a long time. Second, even in death, they are known to stay in this realm as their spirits take time to truly leave. Third, they are able to do that, because they are nearly immortal.” He took a deep breath. “My father had an advantage since he is half Kirallian and half Juraian. Therefore, he had the strengths of two very powerful races. I don’t think he’s truly dead, yet.” His voice was grim, but firm. “So, he may have thrown the knife? Why?” “To test me, I think.” “Why though?” His face took on a sober expression and when he spoke, his voice was grim. “Delthar is here.” “What? How can that be?” “I’m not sure, but I believe that he’s working for some higher power, and that he’s completely mad.” “Why do you say that?” “His sanity is relative to his power. Since he has gotten more powerful, without anyone mortal to equal him, his mind has become more and more dislocated.” He took another deep breath. “That’s why Kirallians train anyone with even the slightest ancestry from their world. To prevent them from doing too much damage once their powers manifest itself.” “You mean, in time, you may go mad?” her worry returned tenfold. “No. I’ve talked this over with my mother, and she has made sure that I won’t lose it.” “I’d like to know how.” Teran couldn’t suppress a shudder. “Simple, she flooded my mind with the necessary knowledge. That is not an experience I’d like to repeat.” “I don’t think I’d want to go through it.” Sasami agreed. “Now, what are you going to do?” “I’ll wait for him. My guess is that he’ll show up at the wedding, so I have taken the liberty of concealing my sword here.” He showed her where he made the modifications to his coat. “This is based on the assumption that he doesn’t know my true powers yet. If he does, well, it will get ugly.” “I see.” She looked at the clock, “Oh shit! We’re late!” “What?” he looked at the clock, “I’ll handle it.” “How?” “I’ll teleport. My mother taught me that, since I should have been able to do that.” He concentrated for a moment, and they vanished. When they reappeared, they were outside the wedding hall. The guard nearly lost it when they appeared and made the introductions. They were admitted immediately. “So, when are the brides going to show up?” Teran asked Sasami, a mischievous glint in his eyes. “You are insatiable, you know that?” she replied fondly. “They arrive after Tenchi does.” “Ah, I see. Look, there he is.” He said, pointing at where Tenchi now stood. “He doesn’t look too bad, does he?” she commented, obviously impressed by his garb. Tenchi was wearing a dark brocade shirt, with a blue trim at the collar; a silvery colored belt; black pants, and dark boots. He had a sword belted at his waist. More for ceremony, than for anything else. His expression was nervous, but firm. Like that of someone who has considered flight, but couldn’t flee. He was about as ready as he will ever be. “You say that I’m insatiable? You are all but drooling at him.” “So? Wait ‘till Ayeka and Ryoko come in. You will be the one drooling, along with the rest of the men here.” “I sure hope so.” Teran said, enthusiastically. “Still, they don’t compare to you my dear. You are my fiancee, after all.” “Yes, I am your fiancee. Don’t forget that.” Her voice had a razor’s edge to it. “Don’t worry dear.” He replied, smiling. “Oh look, here come Ayeka and Ryoko.” She said, pointing at the two women who entered. “Holy shit, they are beautiful.” He was very impressed at their garb. Ayeka was wearing a blue gown that went very well with her violet hair. It was a combination of the standard Juraian kimono and an Earth wedding dress. It hung off her shoulders, exposing a small amount of her pert breasts. Her hips were accented fairly well, with the gown flaring out slightly there. She looked every bit like a goddess. Ryoko wore an Earthly wedding dress that accented her figure perfectly. From her fairly large breasts, down to her hips, it clung to her. Whenever it seemed like more would be revealed, it seemed as if the silken clothing moved of its own accord. Teran finally got his tongue off the floor, but his eyes were nearly out of their sockets. He noticed that the rest of the present males were in similar states of shock. Tenchi was trying very hard not to blush, or let any emotions show. Somehow, he managed. “Told you.” Sasami smugly commented. “Yes, you surely did.” He replied. “Well Teran, it’s time for us to make our entrance.” “And wait in the reception line for an hour as we’re introduced to everyone present.” They walked toward the entrance, making small talk as if they weren’t present beforehand. The guards admitted them, while the announcer shouted their names to those present. “Lord Teran of House Ki’Tarel on Kiral and his escort Princess Sasami!” “Maybe I should have told him that you accepted my marriage proposal.” commented Teran, “But then again, maybe not.” “Yes, maybe not.” Sasami agreed, “Besides, I want as many present as possible, before that becomes known.” “Another reason to be armed. Driving off the opposition.” He chuckled. “Hopefully, they won’t be that foolish.” “I doubt it. We Juraians are stubborn to the point of obsession.” She looked at him. “And don’t you forget it.” “Yes oh mighty mistress!” She sighed and walked toward the reception line. The nerve of that sonofabitch! She thought indignantly. To think that I agreed to marry… huh? She was brought out of her thought when she spied several moving shadows in the background. Looks like Teran was right. There’s trouble brewing. She looked in Teran’s direction and saw that he too, saw the shadows. She was about to go and talk to him when she heard a loud crash behind her. She turned to see ten armed men and women, in flowing black garb, stalk toward her position. “So, Tokimi, you have sent your soldiers after us.” She said to herself, right before she let her power loose. In a bright flash of light, ten Lighthawk wings surrounded Sasami. They coalesced to form a form fitting body armor. Her upper torso was protected by a shining breastplate, which had a cloak draped over the back. Her legs were covered by blue, metallic greaves. Her head was surrounded by a silver circlet, which didn’t quite cover the true power runes on her forehead. She was carrying a scimitar in one hand, and a katana in the other. Now, Sasami is usually calm, bubbly, and all around happy go lucky. At that moment she was cool, collected, and on the verge of being really pissed off. “Now, I would have thought that you types would have had the decency not to attack during a wedding.” She said. “But, it seems I was wrong.” The ten soldiers looked at each other in puzzlement. This was one of the people that they were supposed to capture, but the way she looked made them hesitate. That proved to be a fatal mistake. She attacked with the cool, emotionless look that one gets when experienced in battle. The soldiers were like grain before the scythe, as she fought, and killed each one. “Good work, princess.” Came a voice from behind. “I see that you have become what the prophecy said you would become.” Sasami started at the familiar voice. She turned to look Kagato in the eye. “And I see that you are still alive, Kagato.” He bowed mockingly in reply. “It’s so nice to be remembered by you princess Sasami.” “Why are you here? Last time I saw you, you were disintegrating and congratulating Tsunami. And that was right after Tenchi cut you in half.” “I’d like to explain princess, but we have more pressing matters.” And without further ado, he materialized his sword. “These soldiers are wreaking havoc at this wedding. When I last saw Ayeka and Ryoko, they were in their lighthawk armor, and tearing into the soldiers that were foolish enough to get into their line of sight.” He chuckled. “Hell hath no fury like a woman’s scorn.” “If you are going to help, then by all means do so.” She thought for a second. “Where’s Teran?” “He is busy fighting the leader. Washu and Yosho are with him, covering his back.” “I see.” She then turned and went to find him. Kagato could not help but chuckle. Here he was, fighting alongside his enemies. If the situation weren’t so serious, the irony would have incapacitated him with mirth. He looked around for someone to fight. He did not look far, when he spied a familiar form finish off a guard. “Well now, it has been awhile, Althair.” He said to the shadow. It turned and looked him in the eye. There was a flicker of recognition there, as if they have known each other in a past life. Indeed, they did. They were, after all, related. “Kagato.” It said, it’s voice hardly more than a whisper. It materialized a sword blacker than night and flowed towards him. Kagato looked at where the eyes would be, and said. “Come then Damned One. Come and fight the Lost One.” He then walked in its direction, preparing for battle. Author’s Note: I have concluded this part. Now this is interesting. Kagato is still alive and well, and he’s fighting alongside Tenchi and Co. Well his motives will be learned later on. Stay tuned for the next part, as I conclude this battle, and new secrets are revealed. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!
